Quest is everything I want in a dog. He is the perfect combination of drive, structure and temperament. Quest is competitive in both the show ring and performance ring while also being an incredible pet to live with day-to-day. He has lots of drive and is always ready to go, but also has an incredible off-switch and is perfectly happy spending a lazy at home. His temperament is nothing short of amazing and he gets along with everyone he meets.
Quest started his show career off with a bang. At his first show, he took Reserve Winners Dog to the major. After that, he took Best of Winners at every show until he finished, earning three majors and a Best of Breed win over specials at seven months old. He finished his Championship at just 16 months old and quickly finished his Grand Championship just a month later with five, five-point majors in one cluster weekend. After that, he continued to be competitive in the show ring, finishing 2023 as the number 11 Border Collie and number 6 owner-handled Border Collie.
After retirement from the show ring we have enjoyed doing various sports, including agility, barn hunt, lure coursing, disc, dock diving, and anything else we can try. Our main focus is agility and he makes a great partner.
Unfortunately, Quest's right elbow did not pass OFA (DJD1) and while we are very confident it is not genetic, he has been neutered and will not be bred.
